Patsy and Raymond Wong are third-generation restaurateurs.  They took over the Sing Wong Restaurant in Portsmouth, Virginia ,when Raymond’s parents retired. It was originally opened in 1965 by Raymond’s grandfather Sing for whom the restaurant owes its name, Sing first served sandwiches, hamburgers, and hot dogs which he knew most Americans liked. But as competition was fierce with all the new fast food restaurants, Sing changed the menu to the traditional Chinese dishes he knew from his home in the Canton region of China.
